Rainer Ganahl's "El Mundo" is acquisitioned by the Smithsonian Hirshhorn collection as a gift of Aaron and Barbara Levine. "The Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden has welcomed 11 new works of art into its permanent collection. The works- painting, photography, video, and interactive installation art have all been acquired since September 29th, when Melissa Chiu became the Hirshhorn's director." It represents the gallery's first museum placement.

Lucky DeBellevue will be part of the launch of Art publication ==#2, at NYC's Printed Matter. ==#2 is a non-thematic arts publication contained in a box with a 96-page bound volume featuring artist-to-artist interviews, texts, and transcriptions. Six loose multiples are also included.

Rainer Ganahl will participate in a group exhibition at the Goethe Institute in Barcelona in Calle Roger de Flor 224 (5pm). The international group exhibition presents 27 artists from 10 different nations whose artistic practices refer to themes and issues that interested Goethe. Other participating artists include Harun Farocki, Hand-Peter Feldmann, Bruce Nauman, Anna Dot, Jochen Lempert. Curated by Robert Punkenhofer.

Tai Ogawa will participate in Apresentando: Tai Ogawa at Galeria Virgilio at the start of the 2014 Sao Paolo Biennial on September 3rd, followed by a 65-artist installation show at the seven-acre former hospital Matarazzo. The show will feature a bust of Kai Matsumiya sculpted by Mara Haseltine and curated by Simon Watson.

The title of the exhibition is inspired by the artist's previous work Karl Marx Visits David Zwirner on West 20th Street, Blinky Palermo, Late Works, Manhattan Marxism where he presented a Marx-themed fashion show of powerful art world figures at White Columns.
